With this feature, system allows to re-create the handling unit (HU) containing stock during document specific cancellation from MFBF when HU was consumed during backflush from Production Supply.
This functionality is only available from S/4 HANA 2020 Embedded version.
As from S/4 HANA 2020 Embedded version, goods receipt for handling units (HUs) can be posted from Repetitive Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing, or Process Manufacturing and the system posts goods receipt in Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) embedded in SAP S/4HANA and Inventory Management at the same time without creating delivery and warehouse request documents.
However, the re-creation of HU( Palletized) stock after confirmation cancellation was not available, system only allowed unpacked stock back to production supply and HU lifecycle was eliminated during consumption.
Currently, when the complete quantity of an HU is consumed by a synchronous goods movement from Production to Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) embedded in SAP S/4HANA, the HU is deleted on the production supply area (PSA). When the goods movement document is cancelled, it is not possible to re-create the HU, and the component quantity is posted as unpacked quantity on the PSA. Now the HU is re-created and the component quantity is posted as packed in the HU.
This feature works only for the HU containing the stock. If the HU containing the stock is in an HU hierarchy, that is, it’s a nested HU, only the HU with component quantities is re-created.
Using material staging from Warehouse to PSA, MF60( Release order parts), components packed in HU is supplied to PSA 1005.
Using Fiori App for confirmation Posting in REM against Planned Order, Assembly Backflush is allowed to posted directly from Bin Level.
It is very important to understand how Bin determination happens for FG, BOM components, By products & Co-Products for synchronous posting (EWM-IM with material doc)
The system performs bin determination in the following way:
- For finished and semi-finished products, the system reads the bin from the production version(C223)
- For components and by-products, the system reads the bin from the corresponding control cycle(LPK1)
- For co-products, the system determines the bin in the following sequence:
1.From the control cycle
- If the finished product is assigned as Other Header Material in the production version of the coproduct, and the destination bin has been entered there, from the production version of the coproduct.
- From the production version of the finished product
Now, in confirmation screen only component quantity is displayed, receipts are posted in background.
System posted GI & GR in 1 material document.
FG & Components are directly posted synchronously in system
HUs are consumed & deleted from Production Supply.
Document Specific Cancellation to regenerate HU back to PSA
From 2020 Embedded EWM, its possible to regenerate the consumed HU back to PSA.
Cancellation with respect to Material Document.
Document gets reversed with new material document.
HUs regenerated after document specific cancellation.
Note: Synchronous Goods Movement is not available in decentralized EWM based on SAP S/4HANA
