In SAP EWM, RF stands for Radio Frequency Mobile Data Entry that allows real time communication between the warehouse employees and the EWM system.

Available language for SAP RF is mainly in English and German, but sometimes it requires to translate RF to local language so warehouse worker can use RF function in the handheld device easier.

This post shows how to make configuration for RF Translation, includes below points. Example in my case is that I translate RF to Vietnamese.

1. Translate Menu

2. Translate Function/ Logical Transaction

3. Translate Button

4. Translate Field

5. Translate Error Message

Configuration

Prerequisite: Local language is already installed in the SAP system.

1. Translate Menu

Log in to local Language first.

IMG Path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Mobile Data Entry > RF Menu Manager

Check the Object ID in the menu in the right side, for example IMMAIN, then find this Object in the list in the left side. Select “Create Object text”, maintain the menu in your own language.

Result when I log in in VI language compare to EN

2. Translate Function/ Logical Transaction

There are 2 ways to translate a Function/ Logical Transaction

Option 1: Translate in Menu Manager

Log in to local language

IMG Path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Mobile Data Entry > RF Menu Manager

Check the Object ID in the menu in the right side, this is Logical Transaction, for example AHPCTO, then find this Object AHPCTO in the list in the left side. Select “Create Object text”, maintain the description in your own language.

Option 2: Translate in Logical Transaction

No need to log in to local language

IMG Path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Mobile Data Entry > Define Steps in Logical Transactions

Search by Logical Transaction AHPCTO. Then select Define Presentation Texts. Maintain a new entry for your warehouse profile.

Result when I log in in VI language compare to EN.

3. Translate Button

For example, I want to translate button “F2 StOv”.

First need to check what is the Logical Transaction and what step. Press Ctrl + Shift + F1. Note down Logical Transaction and Step.

IMG Path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Mobile Data Entry > Define Steps in Logical Transactions

Search by Logical Transaction AHPCTO. Select Define Logical Transactions > Define Function code profile. Note down Function code. In this case, function code for F2 button is AHSTOV.

Go to Define Function codes, search by AHSTOV. Select Define Function code text. Maintain description in your language for your warehouse profile.

Compare the result in EN and VI.

4. Translate Field

For example, I want to translate field in this screen to VI

First, I check what screen number is that.

Tcode: SE80

Select screen number. Double click on any line.

Double click on the field that you want to translate.

Maintain the translation and Save.

Compare result in EN and VI

Note: To transfer the translation from DEV to QAS system, you may need to create a separate Workbench TR and maintain field by field into the TR.

5. Translate Error Message

For example, I want to translate this message. Note down message class and number.

Tcode: SE91

Enter message class and message number.

Select the line and select language.

Maintain the translation.

Compare result in EN and VI

Note: To transfer the translation from DEV to QAS system, you may need to create a separate Workbench TR and maintain message class into the TR.
