What are the new functionalities that will be released by S/4HANA 1909 FSP0?
Thanks.
Here are major new functionalities for EWM in S/4HANA 1909 FSP0:
This new App offers and end-to-end FIORI coverage for inbound processes, through which a user can manage the warehouse tasks destined for putaway. Users can directly choose one or multiple warehouse tasks for confirmation or cancellation.
They can handle exceptions by using pre-defined scenarios from a drop-down list that can be found in the “Movement Data” tab of Putaway Warehouse Task Detail page.
To make the search process for relevant putaway tasks more efficient, we added a filter by status option that will allow users to quickly view which tasks remain open, which are confirmed, pending or even canceled.
Si,ilar to the "Putaway" App “Picking” App offers an end-to-end FIORI coverage for outbound processes, through which our customers can manage warehouse tasks destined for picking. The aim is to make the process of selecting and gathering products for shipments easier and more transparent. From the main overview page of the App, users can sort the warehouse tasks by multiple criteria, such as status, associated Warehouse Order or estimated date of completion.
In the detailed view for each warehouse task, the users have access to different configurable data that can enhance the precision with which the task is handled, such as adding a destination bin for picked products, and exception handling.
With this new feature, we provide our users a tool similar in look and feel as the “Pack Outbound Deliveries” App, that will manage to process of repacking stock which is not related to outbound deliveries. Users can consolidate stock into a new Handling Unit (HU) or even repack stock from existing HUs.
In the warehouse, customers can have a lot of returned products from customers and they want to handle those returns very efficiently, for example, to identify the returned delivery, to inspect the returns, to sort those products based on their conditions into different putaway areas and to trigger follow-up warehouse tasks. “Process E-Commerce Returns” is an SAP FIORI application to process the returned products, and it has been available for the classic SAP EWM 9.4/9.5 version since 2017. Now, we provide this App for the Decentral SAP EWM version as well. It has a similar scope to the SAP EWM 9.5 version.
With the “Process Deliveries – Transportation Units” App, users can:
This increased monitoring and control over the delivery process will reduce overall delivery time, allow faster management of discrepancies, and offer new ways to consolidate orders.
We’ve also added some new features to the “Change Inbound Deliveries” App. In the Change Inbound Deliveries page, users can now add additional items, investigate the reasons why a delivery item is locked and see QM inspection lots after the goods receipt process.
With this release, we have added a new functionality by which a customer can distribution equipment to support multi-step supply of components to the Production Supply Area.
Stock consolidation proposes warehouse tasks to combine scattered stock items into full stock keeping units. With this release we enhanced this process with new modes of operation in which packed or unpacked stock items are moved to other less-than-full occupied storage bins. For example, consolidating stock items with different batches shall be proposed if certain attributes match in the different batches, such as:
Another mode is to free up occupied bins by moving the products to other bins with the same stock attributes.
With this App, users can take an overview of key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to their warehouse operations, for example, the total number of open warehouse tasks to be processed on the current date. On the overview page, a user can see different types of KPI cards that provide high-level insights for the warehouse clerk. For the warehouse clerk, these cards help the user better manage and process daily tasks as well as understand key number and drill down to action.
We also provide the possibility to search for storage bins or warehouse products directly from the SAP FIORI launchpad, and to navigate to master data maintenance for storage bins and warehouse products.
We are also increasing our API Business Hub catalogue with two new API’s: Operations for Warehouse Resource API, and Operations for Warehouse Order and Task API. With the Warehouse Resource API, it is possible to create, retrieve and delete a resource, as well as log on or off from it. Through the Warehouse Order and Task API, users will have access to some basic picking and putaway processes. Furthermore, it will be possible to set some basic internal movements and make confirmations with exception codes.
In this release we have added additional change documents that can display the change history. We have added this feature for: Control Cycles; Quality Inspection Rules; Fixed Bin Assignments. With this feature, users can display what has been changed, when it was changed, and which user has made the changes.
We’ve also worked on new enhancements for the Warehouse Monitor to make navigation easier, and to offer users new ways to refine their searches for the data they need. For example, we have added a new “Storage Bin Sorting” node under the “Stock and Bin” category. This new node gives users the ability to quickly show the settings for sorting storage bins in various warehouse activities.
With this feature, users can automatically generate inspection rules in decentralized Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) based on SAP S/4HANA from the connected enterprise management system (for example, SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA).
i) Some small yet fundamental improvements were made for the Physical Inventory Counting process. Firstly, we added a new default stock type when capturing found stock.
ii) Second, there is a new option to use a different queue for recounts. This makes it possible to do recounts in parallel, simplifying the counting process.
iii) And third, when using RF counting, users can add the packaging material and handling unit type when specifying a handling unit.
With this new feature, it is possible for users to enforce goods receipt before warehouse task creation through a setting in the customizing screen. This will prevent the creation of a warehouse task for an inbound delivery until the inbound delivery is completed and the goods receipt is posted.

In The Change Inbound delivery screen there is a possibility to create multiple handling units with same packing material but I feel it is still not complete because there is no possibility to create Hierarchical HU's in this screen.
